The determination of air permeability of paper used in the manufacturing of cigarettes plays a significant role in quality assurance – for both the paper producer and the cigarette manufacturer. With the air permeability tester A20 Borgwaldt KC provides a flexible measuring device that optimally fulfills all air permeability measurement requirements regarding production control and inspection of incoming material shipments in the industry. The air permeability tester A20 is a tabletop unit for the measurement of air permeability of standard cigarette paper, LIP / RIP or banded paper, tipping paper and plug-wrap paper. The measuring range of 2 to 65,000 ml / min completely covers the range of commonly used papers. As a special feature the A20 is equipped with interchangeable measurement circuit units (LFE units). Consequently, the instrument can be ordered with LFE's covering the desired measuring range. The A20 can be tailored for customers' application. All Laminar Flow Elements (LFE) are interchangeable in-between different instruments. Specific LFE data are stored on a memory chip inside the LFE. The instrument complies with the specifications set forth in the standard ISO 2965 and can be used as a test equipment according to ISO 9000ff.
