The Automatic Hardness Tester H37 is a compact device ideally suited for integration into a laboratory. The unit automatically measures hardness of cigarettes and filter rods. Measurement is performed applying the proven densimeter method. With this method, up to ten objects are arranged parallel to one another in one level, then a defined weight is applied to all of the objects at the same time for a defined period of time. The initial diameter of the objects is deformed. The ratio between the remaining height and the average initial diameter determines
the hardness, which is stated as a percentage. This method is referred to as densimeter hardness.
