The BT Oven F21 is designed for determining the moisture content in tobacco and other materials.
The device applies the drying cabinet method and is therefore a direct measurement method based on the weight difference between a wet and dried sample. It is intended to be used to quickly and automatically determine the moisture
in larger quantities of sample material like tobacco. The sample material is dried with hot air.
The distinct advantage of the BT Oven F21 is its ability to dry large sample quantities (up to 200 g). The sample is automatically weighed by the integrated scale and dried. The operator only needs to place the tobacco sample onto
the unit and remove it after the measuring process. The sample is dried by a stream of hot air in a closed system. There are temperature sensors above and below the tobacco container that are used to determine the actual temperature
within the sample. Drying time and temperature can be selected and adjusted by the operator. An optimized measuring procedure is provided, the drying time depends on the moisture of the sample. As soon as the difference between the temperature before the sample and after the sample remains constant the drying process is terminated.
