The device is used to determine the filling power and/or restoring ability of tobacco. It is intended to be used as a complement to production.
The device functions semi-automatically. Using the beaker and the scale, take a variable quantity of tobacco and pour it into the funnel. The measuring sequence is started by pressing the two start buttons. The tobacco falls into the sample container and is transported under the load stamp, where a defined weight is applied to the sample for a defined period of time. Then the filling power of the tobacco is calculated based on the tobacco weight, the height of the tobacco column and the diameter of the sample container. Next the sample container is moved under the ejector and ejected out the bottom.
The load is applied to the tobacco sample twice to determine the restoring ability of the tobacco sample. There is a pause of 10 seconds between the two loads. During this time the tobacco column expands according to its restoring ability. The restoring ability is calculated applying the measured values from the two load curves.
