Big Body® 540 tandem body tipper Our Big Body® 540 tandem body tipper offers higher capacities than our established Big Body® 500 model, which results from a 25cm extension both on the front and rear end. Offering a low dead weight and compact build, the trailer is generally used in grass, maize silage and cereals. The model shares the same chassis with Big Body® 540, which is built in high unit numbers and also the wheel bearings and brakes are identical. Since the middle of 2006, we have fitted stronger 20t parabolic springs, which increased its GVWR to 19 tonnes. A 1.95m trackwidth and 20t springs with 1.12m wide middle sections combine to provide optimum stability. Parabolic springs with compensator provide extremely quiet running on the road. The high-speed chassis copes with 60km/h transport speeds and offers the extra strength in reserve that is typical of Krampe trailers.
