The HD691 Vise provides easier programming on the positive direction of the "Y" axis and reduces the "reach-over" distance which enables simpler and safer part loading. When using standard jaw plates, a full 9" opening is achieved. This wider and more stable stationary jaw provides less deflection.
Stress in the body is reduced by the four stationary jaw bolts, resulting in the vise remaining flatter after it has been assembled. It is not necessary to remove the vise from the table in order to clean it. More vises in the work body are achieved by the narrower body. There is reduced deflection under the clamping load because of the taller body design.
The HD691 Vise can be bolted and located direct onto standard grid plates of 40mm, 50mm or 2". More precise clamping is achieved by the "pull-type" design which reduces stress in the body. The movable jaw which allows fast change, and the GrooveLock workstop are other features.
