Description

Single-pot granulation has been used in the pharmaceutical industry for decades. Single-pot granulation combines the mixing, high-shear wet granulation and drying (vacuum drying, carrier-gas drying, or microwave drying) all in one process bowl. L.B. Bohle’s single-pot granulation portfolio includes R&D systems for small production volumes as well as production-scale systems. Granulation with the L.B. Bohle Single-Pot Granulator The VMA product range includes classic single-pot granulators with agitator and chopper units and a top drive. Two stirrers produce the shearing action and loosen the product. This helps to prevent clumping and ensures that the resulting granule is of optimum quality. The GMP-compliant process bowl with a double shell is the core of the VMA. The main aggregates are integrated into the lid of the granulation pot (top drive). The process bowl is emptied through a cone-shaped sieve (BTS 200) via the floor outlet into a container (IBC). Recipe-controlled cleaning is carried out automatically. The VMA produces batch sizes from 20 to 960 litres and can be installed in explosive atmospheres. Benefits of the Single Pot Granulator Safe production inside a closed bowl in a vacuum - High mixing and granulation efficiency (even for low doses of active agents at < 1%) - Low energy consumption: Drying at low temperatures - Easy operation and cleaning, as well as quick product changes - Efficient solvent recovery through cooling water - Small footprint
