The key to good ultrasonic measurement is proper alignment of wall sensors with the product to be measured. LaserLinc has developed a range of fixtures and guides to make your wall thickness measurement easier and more accurate than ever. Ring and C-Shaped Wall sensor fixtures are available as rings or C-shaped, depending on your application and needs. A ring fixture is mounted on the entry or exit wall of a tank or trough. The product passes through the ring and is measured. The fixtures are generally not adjustable; for best results, the size of the product must be well-matched to the size of the fixture and the focal length of the ultrasonic sensors. C-shaped wall sensor fixtures are mounted to a plate that attaches to a tank or trough. The sensors can be either fixed or swiveling. The swivel feature enables finely tuned transducer alignment at the factory to ensure reliable measurement of very small diameter products. The C-shaped fixtures permit easy insertion or removal of the product from the fixture, reducing the chances of breaking the extrudate/product.
