L.B. Bohle unveiled QbCon® 1, the first continuous granulator and truly continuous dryer at Achema. Short residence times and narrow residence time distribution ensure reproducible quality. The drying process is so efficient that residual moisture below the initial moisture of the raw material can be achieved, if requested.
The patent-pending system serves as a perfect entry into continuous wet granulation. For the first time, QbCon® 1 enables continuous drying and granulation with very short and reproducible residence times in the dryer and stable granule quality in terms of mois-ture and particle sizes.
By using PAT, the production process can be tracked inline. This leads to consistently high quality products that leads to high patient safety, lower costs, a bet-ter understanding of the process and optimized process control.”
QbCon® 1 has a small footprint and is suitable for the lowest throughput rates (nominal throughput: 0.5-2.5 kg/h).
In addition to the short residence time of the granules in the dryer at narrow residence time distribution, advantages include the resulting traceability in the continuous process and the uni-form, reproducible drying of all granules of different sizes over the entire process duration.
