This valve configuration is typically used to select between the main hydraulic system and the emergency backup that’s biased in the normally closed port. Its non-interflow design means that its three ports are never open simultaneously. These valves can also be used to extend a large unequal area actuator, where reduced actuation force may be permissible in one direction.
This miniature shuttle valve is only .187” in diameter and .93” in length. The poppet in this shuttle valve is biased so that the emergency port (E) is normally closed, and the normal (N) and service (S) ports are connected. It is ideal for applications with flow rates up to 1.3 gpm. The valve has integral safety screens for added protection against rogue contamination or debris.
