OPTIA is the software designed by Libellula for the digitalisation and the quick restart of nesting of the scrap from sheet metal cutting. The digital acquisition of the profile of the sheet metal scrap is carried out by the optical system of a video camera, capable of capturing and converting a real scrap scenario into a virtual 2D schematic representation. Linked to the Libellula.WIZARD cutting software, it has an extraordinary capacity of simplifying the sheet metal scrap recovery process, optimising machining times and profitability. Designed to be used on board the machine. That’s what simplicity is. The software can be used autonomously by the operator of the cutting machine without requiring any intervention by the Technical Department. By placing the video camera near a workbench (machine or acquisition station outside of it), OPTIA takes a snapshot which is processed in real time and used to detect the image of the sheet metal scrap. The process elaborates and discretizes the captured images so as to recognise the geometrical shape of the sheet metal and at the same time save it for its full-scale representation on the nesting background of the Libellula.WIZARD cutting software.
