The gravimeter measurements in a variety of temperature and pressure range can be done under aggressive media with magnetic suspension. This kind of magnetic suspension consists of a balance that can be used for recording measurement values. The apparatus is equipped with a suspension coupling for carrying the weight of the sample. a sensor for measuring the position of the levitation part, a control unit for controlling the suspension of the coupling. A leviation magnet abnd holding magnet is used realize contact-less transmission of the sample weight. The levitation magnet has a permanent magnet and the holding magnet has an electromagnet hanging in the balance. The actual position of the levitating magnet is delivered by the position sensor. The electromagnetic force act as the actuating variable in the PID controller that makes a stable levitation position. A micro balance can be set up at environmental condition with the help of magnetic coupling. Hence, the balance is protected from high temperature.
