Nonpolarizing electrodes are mainly used in following geoelectrical applications: - Induced polarization - Spontaneous potentials - Downtown measurements By means of electrodes, potentials generated by electrochemical action between electrode and ground are eliminated, in order to reduce contact resistance. - DC potential: a few mV (shortly after manufacturing) - Contact+internal resistance of a couplet: 50-300 Ohm (for normal ground) - Surface of the bottom: 27 cm2 - Mass: about 0.7 kg - Diameter (D): 64mm - Height (H): 114 mm
