The Tilt Float Switches which have been designed by Madison Company,it offers efficient, inexpensive and highly reliable level detection in water tanks, sumps, large open vessels, reservoirs and ponds. There are three different designs available which can suited for individual applications. A three-conductor cable is integrated into the molded rubber float is operated with a micro-switch device, which is situated inside the float on an anti-vibration mount.
The rubber float is made from ethylene propylene diene (EPDM) which is a synthetic rubber which is durable and rigid characteristics. It has a long service life and offers resistance against oxidation, ozone, heat and aging due to heat. EPDM is a non-polar elastomer which offers good electrical resistivity plus resistance to polar solvents such as acids, phosphate esters, water, alkalies and numerous alcohols and ketones. The operating principle is basically, for fluid level which rises the float, and cause the micro-switch to tilt and generate a signal that can be used to start or stop.
