The spreader solenoids tend to be used when there is a high need to introduce actuation to release magnets for brake actions. Spreader solenoids that are single-acting find good use in escalators and can also act as a replacement unit in older elevators. In passenger elevators it is possible to only use the double-acting solenoids. DC double-acting solenoids' have two magnet systems and can exert pressure in opposite directions. They are suitable for releasing brakes as when they are hinge suspended by the rear side and eventually suitable for spreading. Customer specific is what Magnetbau Schramme developments are.
