The MLA900 is suitable for mobile individual measurements of the conductivity of kerosene. The device checks whether the safety-relevant conductivity value has been achieved by sufficient addition of additives. It is approved for use in the explosive area and is listed as a standard measurement method in ASTM D2624.
BENEFITS
USER-FRIENDLINESS
Large double display for conductivity and temperature; easy checking of the function and display accuracy
MEASURING ACCURACY
Precise measurement results as well as limit value-, function- and status-messages
BACKGROUND
Fluids with insufficient electrical conductivity can be electrostatically charged at a high flow rate. If the liquids are flammable, there is a risk of ignition by sparking during the electrical discharge. In petroleum products, such as kerosene and light mineral oils, additives increase the conductivity - the electrostatic charge is dissipated to the tank or pipeline wall.
For kerosene, a minimum conductivity is prescribed for safety reasons. The MLA900 is used to check whether the safety-relevant conductivity value has been achieved by adding sufficient additives. The device is approved for use in explosive gas areas and is included in the list of ASTM D2624 as the standard measuring method.
