Description

Monitoring the magnetic flux in the rotor poles of a generator allows the detection of magnetic field homogeneity anomalies. Such a disturbance can be caused by short circuits in a pole. This failure can decrease the operating efficiency of the machine and cause strong vibrations due to magnetic unbalance. Hall-effect sensors are used to monitor machines with a high pole count, such as hydrogenerators, turbogenerators or windturbines. Magnetic unbalance Short circuit in a pole Pole mechanical instability One magnetic flux sensor installed on the stator MPS: Maximum absolute flux deviation between two opposite poles or two adjacent poles CMS: Flux profile, absolute flux deviationview Gearmills millsdrive Turbogenerators Hydrogenerators Windturbines Magnetic field transducers
