Description

The TMS Magness-Taylor probe set by Mecmesin is generally used in the assessment of fruits and vegetables, gauging the resistance to penetration. The test fixture offers food technologists with a broad line of penetration testing choices beyond the limits of typical Magness-Taylor measurements. This variety of applications makes the probe useful in several operations beyond fresh produce testing, such as confectionery and dairy penetration tests. The set includes a 9.5mm or 3/8" capacity chuck, which is attached straight to the TMS-Pro load cells. It also allows technologists to use nearly any geometry of test cylinder for penetrating their samples. Mecmesin offers 5 x 120mm long stainless steel probes, with a diameter size of 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7mm.
