FOIL LASER CUTTING IN FINE CONTOURS
Laser cutting of flexible foils and plastic sheets can be done at high speed in Mekoprint’s roll-to-roll production, or by the use of a table laser.
In foil laser cutting, it is possible to cut with a high degree of precision and with fine contours, which would be difficult to stamp out.
When using laser cutting technology, at no time is there physical contact between the workpiece and the ‘tool’, which is why the result is a fine cut, regardless of the material being cut.
Depending on the task to be performed, Mekoprint uses either table lasers or roll-to-roll lasers. The choice between these technologies depends on the size of the production series, the material to be cut, as well as the tolerance for the cutting.
TABLE LASER
For smaller series, laser cutting has a significant economic advantage compared to stamping. With laser cutting, the initial costs are reduced as there is no need to invest in tools. Mekoprint’s table laser produces sheets with the ability to initiate smaller production orders.
A table laser provides an opportunity to laser cut and implement rapid prototyping processes, without the development and production of tools.
Using camera marks, high-precision laser cutting can be done in a variety of materials and thicknesses – from flexible foils to plastic sheets.
Depending on the further work on the workpiece in production, the finished product can be delivered laser cut as individual items or on sheets. For delivery on sheets, the cut workpieces are left on the sheet, so they can be easily removed and placed on the product.
