Product description
The MLX90517 is a high-speed inductive resolver IC used for absolute rotary motion/position sensing in safety critical automotive applications. Its main specifications benefit e-machine types of applications directly. This variant provides raw Sine and Cosine signals which must be compensated by the ECU prior to angle calculation.
The MLX90517 is designed to control an inductive transducer, process the captured analog sensor signal and provide differential Sine and Cosine outputs. The inductive sensor operation is based on the inductive coupling between a transmitting coil, the target and three receiver coils.
High-speed inductive resolver with analog output
With its innovative architecture, the MLX90517 brings several advantages:
Possibility to perform on-chip offset pre-compensation
The 3-phase based coil design simplifies linearity optimization
The MLX90517 has been developed as an ASIL C SEooC (Safety Element out of Context) according to ISO 26262 and supports safety related system implementations up to ASIL D.
For mass-production programming, the MLX90517 is compatible with the PTC-04 (DB-HALL06, v3 or higher)
Applications:
High speed absolute rotary position sensor
Motor position sensing (BLDC, PMSM, PMSR)
Traction motor
E-brake booster
Electric Power Steering (EPS)
