The MLX90423 is a magnetic position sensor suited for demanding but cost-conscious automotive applications. The device blends high accuracy for long strokes (up to 30mm), stray field immunity (SFI) and ISO26262 (supports up to ASIL D system integration). This solution is ideal for automotive ADAS applications with space constraints such as braking systems (brake rod).
MLX9042x devices have superior capabilities in terms of functional safety, Absolute Maximum Ratings (AMR) and electromagnetic compliance (EMC) characteristics. They also support operating temperature up to 160 °C
The MLX90423 is pin-to-pin compatible with the previous generations of Triaxis® position sensor ICs
The MLX90423 is a monolithic magnetic position processor IC. It consists of a Triaxis® Hall magnetic front end, an analog to digital signal conditioner, a DSP for advanced signal processing and a programmable output stage driver.
The MLX90423 is sensitive to the three components of the magnetic flux density applied to the ICs (i.e. Bx, By and Bz). This allows the MLX90423 with the correct magnetic circuit to decode the absolute position of any moving magnet. It enables the design of non-contacting position sensors that are frequently required for both automotive and industrial applications.
