Description

Optical inspection of free-flowing powders and granules for the detection of contaminations. Powders and granules are demanding media. Their quality and purity place high demands on man and machine. Foreign bodies such as metal, paint or plastic particles, organic material, agglomerates or fibers can hardly be avoided in the production process. Qualitative protective measures are the key to the highest possible product quality and thus patient safety. In contrast to the widely developed particle inspection in liquids, foreign particle inspection in powders and granules is technologically more complex. Our fully automated inspection system ‘Powder Secure’ was developed for quality assurance of powders and granules. It effectively inspects Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) with fast, high-resolution camera technology. Smallest visual contaminations down to 50μm are reliably detected and removed even in highly potent substances and also in stringent pharmaceutical environments. • Inspection of product against light and dark backgrounds to optimize contrast • Vibration feeder matched to product and throughput for product transport • Inspection of product against light and dark backgrounds to optimize contrast • Product specific ejection mechanism
