Many factors and parameters can affect the interaction between the pantograph and the catenary. Internal or external factors affect the dynamic behavior of the system and lead to parameter variations. A pantograph in “non-standard conditions” might adversely affects the contact line or that requires a specific maintenance activities. A complete inspection of each of its parts is needed to perform data correlation. Morph & Wear This module realize a 3D measurement by analyzing the images of the trace obtained on the surface of the pantograph with a collimated laser beam acquired by a digital matrix camera. The Morph & Wear module surveys: the pantograph head as 3D point cloud for identifying defects of the shape of the head by comparison with a 3D model or with previous acquisitions of the same pantograph; the upper surface of the contact strip for measuring its wear and lack of material from the contact stripes.
