MFPRs Rotary Rheostat Load Boxes of the FVRB series are heavy duty tandem rheostats. With a standard power range from 500W up to 5kW, for some applications the power range can be up to 20kW. In regards to rated power, a smaller rated resistance value means the rheostat can have a larger rated maximum current capacity. These load currents and resistance ranges require different resistance materials to withstand the current and achieve the resistance value. Features options including a voltmeter, an ammeter, a power meter, a thermal protection, an over current protection, a control main switch, as well as a cooling system. As there is no standard resistance value suitable for all applications, the resistance is manufactured according to the customers application needs. Two rheostat banks with the same power rating doesn't mean they have the same maximum load current capacity.
