The device acts as a brake chopper in DC links, which means that the DBM 4.0 switches onto a safe brake resistor when the set voltage is exceeded, thereby diverting braking energy from the system in a highly dynamic manner. The DBM 4.0 can be attached to individual frequency inverters as well as multi-axis systems or larger DC networks. Its key features are integration capacity, performance and communication skills. Depending on the application, the DBM 4.0 can be provided as an individual device or in conjunction with a safe brake resistor, also provided from us.
The flexible Dynamic Brake Manager DBM 4.0 can be operated with different single resistors and resistor combinations, depending on the application. The resistor is selected according to the power requirement and the duty cycle. We will find the right solution for every operating point per connected DBM 4.0. The resistor can be placed where the waste heat can best be dissipated. If a DBM 4.0 is not sufficient, a parallel connection is also possible. Thanks to its versatile communication capabilities, valuable information such as status, power and DC link voltage can be read out at any time, even in a bus connection.
