The thermoelectric dual detector is designed for the measurement of carbon monoxide. The optical filter is optimized for CO with a CWL of 4650 ± 40 nm and a HBW of 180 ± 20 nm. Typical applications of the MTS2SENS44 carbon monoxide are medical technology (including metabolic monitoring, spirometry), industrial process analysis, biotechnology, food technology or room air analysis.
The dual-channel thermopile works at ambient temperatures ranging from -20 to 85 °C. It offers a detectivity of up to 1,61*10^8 cm√Hz/W and sensitivity of up to 39 V/W at a very good price/performance ratio. The integrated thermistor for reference temperature determination and an additional reference channel (CWL: 3910 ± 28, HBW: 70 ± 10 nm) complete the product.
The detector uses 2 chips, each with 44 silicon thermocouples, as its technological basis. Thermal diffusion currents between the two different metals generate an electrical voltage (Seebeck effect) - the measurement signal.
