The MTS2SENS44 alcohol is specially designed for the measurement of methanol (CH4O/half structure formula: CH3OH) & ethanol (C2H5OH) in environments between -20 and 85 °C. The optical filter with a CWL of 9663 ± 80 nm and a HBW of 240 ± 40 nm is designed for NDIR gas analysis of these typical alcohol compounds. With a detectivity of up to 1,61*10^8 cm√Hz/W and a sensitivity of up to 39 V/W, the 2-channel detector represents a reliable product option for various applications in industrial production and process or medical technology at a very good price/performance ratio.
The signal values are enabled by the combination of chip design, integrated thermistor for reference temperature determination, a mass absorber and backgassing with krypton. The measurement results are assured by the second reference channel (CWL: 5060 ± 25, HBW: 100 ± 15 nm). Two chips with 44 silicon thermocouples each form the basis of the IR thermopile. The measurement signal emerges from an electrical voltage. This happens by thermal diffusion currents between the different metals (Seebeck effect) in the detector chip.
