The narrow-band filters of the MTS4SENS44 3C-2 carbon dioxide assure reliable measurement results for the gases carbon monoxide (CO) (CWL: 4650 ± 40, HBW: 180 ± 20 nm), carbon dioxide (CO2) (CWL: 4415 ± 30, HBW: 60 ± 10 nm) and hydrocarbons (CWL: 3400 ± 20, HBW: 140 ± 20 nm). The quad detector is rounded off with a reference channel (CWL: 3910 ± 28, HBW: 70 ± 10 nm).
The detectivity of up to 1.61*10^8 cm√Hz/W and sensitivity of up to 39 V/W build on the two product features: four chips with 44 silicon thermocouples each, filling of the TO39 package with krypton. The integrated thermistor for reference temperature determination and a ground absorber convert the signal from radiant energy to thermal energy as efficiently as possible. The thermocouples then turn thermal energy into electrical energy.
With a very good cost-to-performance ratio, the detector therefore offers an additional alternative in the NDIR component category.
