The MTS4SENS44 3C-1 carbon dioxide is a 4 channel detector for the measurement of selected gases: carbon monoxide (CO) (CWL: 4650 ± 40, HBW: 180 ± 20 nm), carbon dioxide (CO2) (CWL: 4265 ± 25, HBW: 120 ± 10 nm) and hydrocarbons (CWL: 3400 ± 20, HBW: 140 ± 20 nm) with reference channel (CWL: 3910 ± 28, HBW: 70 ± 10 nm).
The quad detector bases on four chips with 44 silicon thermocouples each. By filling the TO39 package with krypton gas, the IR thermopile achieves a detectivity of up to 2.21*10^8 cm√Hz/W and sensitivity of up to 54 V/W combined with a very good price/performance ratio. Exhaust gas measurement on vehicles, process analysis or industrial gas measurement - the detector covers a wide range of applications in industry, aerospace and medicine at ambient temperatures between -20 and 85 °C and thus offers an additional alternative in the NDIR component portfolio.
An integrated thermistor for reference temperature determination and a ground absorber ensure efficient conversion of the signal from radiant energy to thermal energy. The thermocouples then convert the thermal energy into electrical energy.
