With CrazyDrill Coolpilot, Mikron Tool offers a pilot and short drill for stainless steels, heat-, acid-resistant and CrCo alloys in the diameter range of 1.0 to 6.35 mm (.039“ to .250“, fractional inches available). This twist drill type is designed with internal helicoidally arranged cooling channels which bring up to four times more coolant volume to the drill tip. CrazyDrill Coolpilot is the perfect preparation for deep hole drilling with CrazyDrill Cool SST-Inox and realizes simultaneously, if requested, a 90° counter bore (countersink drill bit). It finds also a perfect application as an autonomous, precision short drill for depths of max. 3 x d.
CrazyDrill Coolpilot has been developed as pilot and short drill with integrated cutting edge for the placement of a countersink for the machining of stainless steel, heat-, acid-resistant and CrCo alloys. Therefore, this solid carbide drill bit is the ideal complement of CrazyDrill Cool SST-Inox (drilling depth up to 40 x d). Due to diameter tolerances perfectly matched to this deep hole twist drill type of Mikron Tool, no transition from pilot to follow-up hole is measurable.
Also, CrazyDrill Coolpilot allows to drill quickly, accurately and reliably. Various factors are responsible for this singular performance: an innovative geometry and coating and a new through-tool coolant.
INNOVATIVE GEOMETRY
The new chip flute profile is divided into two areas: a front chip flute area with a special chip breaker shape ensures compact, short and curved chips; a rear chip flute area with extended flute shape ensures perfect chip removal.
