Description

Vector Quad The Vector Quad is an all purpose linear guide suitable for a wide variety of applications. This linear guide system incorporates four standard v-groove guide rollers fixed to the corners of a carriage plate, creating superior load capacity in all directions. The mating rail incorporates two sections of standard single edge track in a rectangular aluminum extrusion. This linear guide system creates a low profile design, ideal for single rail applications. The Vector Quad utilizes a design feature unique to Modern Linear. The compliant rail design works by allowing one of the mating track sections to float inside the rail, while the opposing track section is rigidly fixed. The floating track creates a preload against the carriage rollers. A section of O-ring cord located behind the floating track acts as a spring to create the carriage preload. The floating rail automatically adjusts for machining inaccuracies, misalignment and tolerance stack-up, to maintain fit-up between the rail and carriage. The compliant rail design eliminates the need for carriage adjustment throughout its life unlike adjustable designs. Modern Linear adjustable carriages are available with rigid rails for applications where adjustability is desired. The Vector Quad linear guide is made from our off-the-shelf guide rollers and single edge track. Carriage plate and rail extrusions are made from T6063 aluminum, anodized for protection. All hardware is 18-8 stainless steel.
