The FS3xCXK-x-ICA series of piezo-electric force sensors provides a direct measurement of X, Y, and Z axis forces. Their integrated charge amplifiers provide high-sensitivity, low-drift, low-impedance output signals. These sensors are typically imbedded in a milled pocket or spacer-plate located within the machine structure. This sensor is typically used in lathe applications requiring higher monitoring performance than is available with single-axis or RetroBolt force sensors. It can be used to detect overloads or collisions, missing tools, broken tools, and in some applications, chipped tools and worn tools.
Montronix presents force sensors with integrated charge amplifiers (ICA) designed specifically for fixed tool applications such as lathes, presses, and broaches.
Montronix force sensors with ICAs provide:
Available in retrofittable versions as well as the more traditional versions designed to be embedded within the machine structure
Improved reliability and easier maintenance in the harshest industrial process monitoring applications
Fast response time to detect force transients caused by tool breakage
