The BV-100 sensor measures the mechanical vibration of the machine structure resulting from the cutting process (up to 10kHz) to detect missing tools, broken tools, and severe process faults. It can also be used to monitor excessive vibration on bearings or spindles. This sensor also measures acoustic emission (AE) energy - the high frequency (50 kHz to 400 kHz) energy signals produced by the cutting process.
BV100 :: Broadband Vibration Sensor
The AE signal is ideal for breakage detection of small-diameter drills and taps. This sensor is easy to install on both new and existing machines. It was designed for use on machining centers with a wide variety of tools.
Montronix presents the BV100 sensor designed specifically for application on machining centers that use a wide variety of tooling.
Montronix's BV100 sensor is:
Extremely broad frequency response for improved sensitivity to the condition of small and large diameter tools
Easily installed - the 5 meter (16.4 feet) cable
Rated to IP67 and NEMA 6 industrial standards and is highly shielded against electro-magnetic interferences (EMI, CE-EMV) - 100% inner and outer shielding
Inner polyurethane jacket protects against coolant damage and the stainless steel overbraid protects against hot chips and sharp corners
