Multi-Tech belt conveyors, type PL-LD 120 Belt conveyor with positive angle in combination with belt conveyor bunker GL-AM 140 Conveyor belts with positive angle, type PL, are often engineered in combination with a horizontally standing conveyor belt bunker. In many cases, the conveyor technology of this design is used to supply production processes where larger production batches shall be placed in the hopper at once and then fed into a process in a dosed/batched form. In such cases, the horizontally standing conveyor belt has a dimensioned hopper that corresponds to the performance requirements. The material of the hopper as well as its shape and design are designed on the basis of the parts to be conveyed. Thus, these hoppers are often equipped with e.g. folding covers or quick-emptying flaps. The outer belt covers on the horizontal conveyor belt bunkers normally have only small or no driver cleats. This affects the batching process in a positive way. The benefit of this combination in comparison to a one-part batching belt conveyor is that the parts are conveyed in a more safe and gentle way. Corresponding sensors control and regulate that the horizontal conveyor belt only runs if there are no parts or only a few parts in the transmission area of the delivery area of the steep standing belt. Thus, rotation and turning processes are reduced in the hopper and the parts are handled safely. In addition, the driver cleats on the steep belt part will be less strained.
