The MTP 302 is a variant of the world's fastest intrinsically safe temperature transmitter MTP 300, featuring a second analog output for high temperatures.
The MTP 302 is designed for processes where safety & speed are critical, e.g. LDPE/EVA production or gas turbine flame control. It can be used with all commercially available thermocouples. It is intrinsically safe and SIL2 certified. Self-diagnostics can detect broken wires, loose or shorted wires. With a FIT of 4.7, it is one of the most reliable transmitters on the market. With an intrinsically safe barrier as a supply, the MTP 302 can be installed in Ex Zone 1.
The device features redundant SIL2 relays and a 4-20mA analog output. A high level of integration allows temperature values to be transmitted in less than 4 ms. This makes it possible in the LDPE production process to open a relief valve at lightning speed if the temperature rises during a decomposition. The second analog output captures temperature data that exceeds the instrument's measurement range, which is limited to 0 - 150/400°C.
