The FlowSwitch FS 550 is a microwave-based flow monitor for bulk solids - with an analog output for trend monitoring. The FS 550 monitors the flow of solids. It is a microwave-based flow monitor that detects disturbances in the transport of powders, dusts, pellets or granulates. This helps prevent clogged pipelines, material loss or problems with the conveying system. The FS 550's microwave technology is not affected by dust, steam or material buildup. The sensor operates without contact, wear or maintenance. It can be installed in pipelines, on conveyor belts, on drop plates, on chutes, behind screws or in similar conveying equipment. It enables reliable detection of material flow and detects insufficient or missing material, blockage or standstill - from several meters away. Numerous parameters, such as sensitivity, damping, filter time and hysteresis are adjustable. The FS 550 is known as the most rugged flow monitor in its class. It is constructed of stainless steel and optimized for long life. High ATEX ratings and high pressure adapters allow for use in the harshest environments.
