Screw Driven Modular Actuators use the finest acme and ball screws manufactured in the world. They allow for direct in-line motor mount with or without an in-line or parrallel gear box.
ACME SCREWS
Nook Industries acme screws are made of high strength materials. The screw shaft is made of high alloy steel. Nook acme nut material has been selected for low friction, minimum wear, long life, and clean operations.
BALL SCREWS
Nook Industries PowerTrac™ ball screws offer an efficient means of converting rotary motion to linear motion. A ball screw is an improvement over an acme screw just as an anti-friction ball bearing is an improvement over a plain bushing. Nook Industries ball screws are made of high strength materials. The screw shaft is made of medium carbon induction hardenable alloy steel. Ball nuts are manufactured from high grade bearing steel. Both the ball screw and nuts are heat-treated to a surface hardness not less than 56 HRC with a case depth suitably chosen to carry the load.
