Flex Seal Plus SC flexible couplings are "straight" or symmetrical couplings fitted with a central shear band. The Flex Seal Plus SC comes in nominal diameters of 50600mm (bigger still with the LC and XLC ranges) and are suitable for use in sewerage, drainage and other non-pressure pipe systems to join or repair pipes of the same or different materials and diameters. Where the difference in pipe diameters exceeds the figure given in the range table then a bush or bushes should be used. Flex Seal Plus SC has two main features: - TOX® = the stainless steel parts are clinched together, not welded, for longer life. - Clip-In = an EPDM profile system that holds the clamping bands in place during transport and installation of the couplings. Flex-Seal Plus couplings are the first and only flexible couplings to enjoy CE marking to ETA 09/0248. They are also CSTB certified. (Contact us for full details). They are made from EPDM and grade 1.4301 (304) stainless steel (with nitrile rubber and grade 1.4401 (316) stainless steel options available) and are especially tough for a service life at least as long as that of the pipes. They will withstand up to 1.5 bar pressure, accept an angular deflection of up to 3° (enquire) and can withstand a shear force (in Newtons) of up to 25 times the nominal bore (in mm). Flex Seal Plus SC couplings can be installed indoors and outdoors alike and can be located above or below ground. A simple screwdriver is the only tool needed to fit them.
