The Nova 412 Series O2 analyzers offer O2 analysis to the highest standard, because it makes use of a combination of a powerful selenium cobalt magnet assembly with a magnetic-dynamic paramagnetic measuring cell. This is taken to still higher precision by a built-in barometric pressure compensation and detector temperature control. A high resolution digital readout is included in the case of high-purity applications, such as Model 412HP.
This analyzer works on the principle that oxygen is pulled into a magnetic field, so that the force exerted on a diamagnetic body suspended in the field goes up. The current volume required to restore the position of the body is therefore directly related to the level of O2 in the sample gas. This detection method is very specific for oxygen as very few other gases show this response.
