This HCHO monitor is an ideal instrument for indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring and local exhaust system (LEV) performance verification in areas where Formaldehyde may be present. FORMALDEHYDE (HCHO) is a gaseous component of the earth's atmosphere. The concentration of HCHO in natural ambient air is about 0.03 ppm. The UK Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 impose a legal requirement for the workplace control of exposure to Formaldehyde, by reference to Table 1 of EH40/2005 Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs). The short-term exposure limit for Formaldehyde as listed in EH40* is 2 ppm or 2.5 mg/m³ (15 minute reference period).
