The UPG 620 generates fast pulses for testing the sensitivity of PD measuring circuits in gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), power transformers and power cables. This check is strongly recommended for all UHF measurements in line with CIGRE 15/33.03.05. The pulses are fed in via a UHF coupler. The sensitivity of the setup is then determined using the lowest detectable pulse. With the extremely fast slope of 200 ps, a bandwidth of up to 2 GHz can be covered.
