The interactive free-type clutch is a mechanical element that allows for the motive power provided to the input shaft to be transmitted to the output shaft; while the motive power provided to the output shaft (reverse input) can be shut off by means of the spinning of the output shaft.
By using this device, mechanical elements that require power such as electromagnetic clutches, solenoids, motors and so on can be eliminated. This allows for a device that is more compact, simple, and is better at conserving energy.
