The INDUGA station for refining and metering of aluminium consists of two coreless induction furnaces, each with a degassing device, and a weighing station for the ladles. The furnace proper is designed as a short-coil furnace. It can be tilted hydraulically and meters freely programmable pouring weights at preset intervals via a discharge siphon into precisely weighed casting ladles.
The degassing devices have a rotating lance into which the melt is drawn and simultaneously purged with gas. The whole station is computer controlled and fully automated. It is therefore possible to carry out degassing and refining parallel to the metering. The result is a homogeneous, low-gas refined melt which is cast in a fully automated and continuous production process.
