Description

The Type CBBI thermostatic expansion valve and check valve assembly is our Type BBI balanced port valve modified to include an internal check valve. The CBBI valve is designed for use on residential and small commercial heat pump systems which require a check valve to bypass refrigerant flow around the expansion device in the reverse flow direction. Refrigerant metering (expansion) then occurs at the other expansion valve in the system. This valve is particularly well suited for systems which operate over widely varying conditions, or employ some means of capacity reduction like a two-speed compressor. The Type CBBI valve is available in many variations and is sold to OEMs who order large quantities. Although the thermostatic element is replaceable, it is not recommended to replace internal parts. The RC valve serves as a functional replacement.
