The 6725 Semimicro Calorimeter is a nifty device, especially conceived to provide precise measurements of heat generated in a combustion reaction even when very small sample quantities are available for testing.
The calorimeter is compactly structured and extremely easy to operate. It is extremely handy in marine biology studies and studies related to other ecological fields, that often require semimicro measuring techniques owing to small sizes of samples that are available for testing. It is also useful in testing pyrotechnic mixtures and powders.
The semimicro calorimeter incorporates the 1109A, 22ml Oxygen Bomb. The Oxygen Bomb efficiently manages sample sizes of 25 to 200 mgs. It burns in the presence of oxygen to generate 1200 calories of heat.
The calorimeter is equipped with a silver-coated glass Dewar that is used as the calorimeter container. The Dewar provides efficient static thermal resistance in operations. The 1109A Oxygen Bomb is kept immersed in 450 gms water in the vacuum flask i.e Dewar. The Dewar is installed in an SS air can, facilitating easy removal for cleaning and re-filling.
