BLE BEACONS are small radio beacons for Zone 1/21 and Div. 1 that emit a signal at periodic intervals. By supporting the Bluetooth® 4.0 standard, the beacons are compatible with current smartphones and tablets and are recognized by these devices by means of geolocation at a distance of up to 200 m. Due to the UV-resistant housing material, which withstands temperatures of -20°C ... +55°C, the Bluetooth® beacons are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, and for use across different floors—even for mining purposes where no signals would otherwise be received. In this way, not only solutions for localization, lone worker protection, and physical access control but also safeguard control and visitor guidance systems can be realized.
