Description

PATHFAST™ determines the quantity of hs Trop I, NTproBNP, D-Dimer, hsCRP, Myoglobin and CK-MB mass from one single whole blood sample. The quantitative data of the parallel analyses provide results within minutes, which facilitate the therapeutical decision. Basis for a safe diagnosis on-site for patients with acute coronary syndrome, suspected coronary heart insufficiency, venous thromboembolism, inflammation and myocardial injury . PATHFAST™ D-Dimer is a chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative measurement of D-Dimer concentration in whole blood or plasma. PATHFAST™ D-Dimer is used an aid in the diagnosis of activation processes of the coagulation system including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Plasmin-induced lysis of crosslinked fibrin results in the formation of D-dimer containing fibrin degradation fragments (XDP). D-dimer is a specific marker of the degradation of factor XIIIa- crosslinked fibrin and an indirect early marker of activation of coagulation and clot formation. The plasma concentration of D-dimer is elevated in clinical conditions associated with activation processes of the coagulation system including DVT, PE, and DIC. The exclusion of DVT or PE in patients suspicious for venous thromboembolism is possible if the D-dimer concentration is below the cut off value established by numerous clinical studies. D-dimer measurement is also usable as an aid in diagnosis and monitoring of DIC
