The piezoelectric actuator based gripper system is designed for micropositioning and handling applications. The accurate and high-speed motion of a piezoceramic is transformed by the levered transmission (flexure hinges) of a solid state hinge joint to a 300-µm opening of the gripper gap.
Due to the compact dimensions, the piezoelectric gripper is suited for OEM applications. The mechanic design offers freedom to modify stage dimensions and fixing points upon customer's request. This component also showcases a flexible structure, making it suitable for applications that involve instruments for physics, for biological setups, and for robotic systems. All kinds of handling, micropositioning and manipulation of small parts in research labs or industry are also potential applications of the piezogripper.
