The MMI is a split-case fire pump that is constructed in a horizontal split enclosure, integrated with a centrifugal pump body and 2 opposite impellers. The body is divided on the horizontal plain thus reducing the axial thrust to a minimum to achieve simple maintenance. This pump is equipped with an electric motor that is characterized by its asynchronous 3-phase structure that is attached to the pump through an elastic coupling. The coupling is installed on a frame structure fabricated from electro-welded steel. This pump possesses an optimal balancing feature and a uniquely designed base capable of determining the stability of the pump. This feature of the MMI significantly reduces structural noise that is produced to the hull.
