Plastic pumps have to be used for the pumping and transferring of strong acids or bases. These pumps are self-priming when used for dry running. The priming height varies depending on the humidity of the pump. The flow rate can be set by adjusting the pressure and flow rate of intake air. Dry running is possible for this pump: it will continue to run without overheating or wear. The pump has a special safety mechanism: automatic shutdown if the delivery of liquid is stopped.
